Eric Avery is a basketball skills development coach, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and owner of EA Hoops. A Spokane native, Eric graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1999 and began his collegiate basketball career playing for the Trojans at Everett Community College. As starting guard for the Trojans, Eric was named as an NWAACC All-Star.
After two successful years, Eric was recruited to Whitworth University, and joined the Pirates basketball team and continued the pursuit of his undergraduate degree. While at Whitworth, he was once again acknowledged for his contributions on and off the court—this time with the Leadership Award given to him by his fellow teammates and coaches. Eric graduated from Whitworth University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology.
With 4 years of college ball under his belt, Eric took his skills overseas to play professionally. Playing three seasons in Germany, Eric led his teams in points, assists, and steals. In just his second game there, he scored five three-pointers and twenty-four points before halftime.
Eric is now back in his hometown of Spokane, Washington, and is dedicated to helping players improve their basketball skills and to reach their full athletic potential. By creating customized training programs tailored to fit the needs of each individual athlete, Eric is able to address specific problem areas that may need more improvement then others—giving players the best opportunity to develop their skills and take their game to another level.
Eric s playing career included playing locally at Lewis & Clark, Everett Community College and coming back home and playing at Whitworth, he also played professionally in Europe. After his playing career he dedicated his time to focusing on the details of the skills of the game and developing the skills of players from youth to professional.
Eric has been serving clients all around the Northwest for over 15 years with his skill development program. Eric has worked with professionals from the NBA, D-League, WNBA, CBA, NCAA National Champions and a multitude of European professionals.
Eric has not only developed skills and confidence with individual athletes he’s also worked with state qualifying AAU and WIAA high school boys and girls teams, WIAA State Champions, Gieco National Champions, he’s also worked with countless athletes earning college scholarships.
Eric aims to build athletes confidence, through the knowledge and understanding of the skills of the game.

Semi-Private classes: – Focus on offensive skill development. With the small classes you’ll be challenged and trained building at your own skill set/level. These groups emphasize skill work but also give us an opportunity to compete and work in game scenarios.
